Training Need Analysis

We at P.R.GLOlinks believe that Training needs assessment is an ongoing process of gathering data to determine what training needs exist so that training can be developed to help the organization accomplish its objectives. Conducting needs assessment is fundamental to the success of a training program.

Often, organizations develop and implement training without first conducting a needs analysis. They run a risk of

  • overdoing training
  • doing too little training
  • Training in unnecessary areas

We assist the organization in conducting TNA. This is an assessment of the gap between the knowledge, skills and attitudes that the people in the organization currently possess and the knowledge, skills and attitudes that they require to meet the organization’s objectives.

At the core of any effective training program is correctly identifying what or who needs to be trained. Poorly conducted needs analyses can lead to training solutions that train:

  • The wrong competencies;
  • The wrong people; and
  • The wrong learning methods

The results of a training needs analysis provides the employer with answers to the following questions:

  • What is needed and why?
  • Where is it needed?
  • Who needs it?
  • How will it be provided?
  • How much will it cost? and
  • What will be the effect on Business
